WELCOME TO THE INSTITUTE FOR LIBERAL STUDIES’ ALUMNI NETWORK!
The Institute for Liberal Studies (ILS) is a registered educational charity dedicated to encouraging discussion of classical liberal ideas in Canada.
Read our welcome statement from the Executive Director of the ILS here.
Every year, the ILS invites students to participate in seminars, faculty lectures, and events that discuss topics like democracy, the rule of law, and economic and personal freedom. Those who have completed the ILS’ Freedom Week, Socratic Seminar, and/or Summer Fellowship program(s) are recognized as alumni of the ILS and will be considered for entrance into the Alumni Network, which members to attend alumni-only events and programming, mentorship opportunities, and many other opportunities that you will find out more about once registered.
On this website, alumni will have an opportunity to interact with their peers, keep up to date with upcoming events, and share their thoughts on any of the activities they had pursued with the ILS.
You can read more about the programs that are available to our students here.
We also encourage alumni to donate to the ILS Alumni Fund, where alumni donate to help cover the cost of a student’s attendance at Freedom Week. To support a student’s journey to learning more about classical liberal ideas, please visit our donation page and contribute to the Alumni Fund.
Want to get involved? Many of our students became alumni through participating in various programs, but one of the best ways is to attend our annual Freedom Week seminar, where we explore issues relating to the law, public policy, political philosophy, and economic markets from a classical liberal perspective with a slate of distinguished faculty. To learn more about Freedom Week, consider watching the video below and visit our website.
